GTA 6 launch trailer: Jason's Army past, a call from Lucia and a new song from Justice
Rockstar's 90-second GTA 6 Launch Trailer, captured in-game on PS5, is out. Jason recalls his Army days, and Justice, who scored the game, debuts a new song.

Rockstar Games released the Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer on Oct. 15, five weeks before the game comes out. The 90-second trailer, which Rockstar says was captured entirely in-game on a PlayStation 5, opens with Jason talking about his time in the Army. It also debuts "Flower in a Hurricane," a new song by Justice, the French duo Rockstar now names as the composers of GTA 6's original score.
The trailer went up at 9 a.m. ET on Rockstar's YouTube channel, the Rockstar Newswire and the game's official site, which also offers it as a download. An hour later, the main YouTube upload had more than 1.4 million views. Rockstar also posted a square version.
Jason's past, and a call from Lucia
The trailer opens in the Keys, with a "Welcome to The Keys" billboard, a marina seen from above and Jason, with long hair, buffing a boat. Over those shots, he says he got in trouble in the Army, didn't leave on good terms and can't get a loan. Then he takes a call: "This is a free call from Lucia Caminos."
Both fit what Rockstar has said about its two leads. Its profile of Jason says he served in the Army before ending up in the Keys working for local drug runners. Its profile of Lucia says fighting for her family landed her in the Leonida Penitentiary, and GamesRadar spotted an ankle monitor on her later in the trailer. Rockstar's description repeats the story setup it gave with Trailer 2: an easy score goes wrong, and the pair end up in a criminal conspiracy that stretches across Leonida.
What's in the trailer
Most of the rest is a fast montage of new footage rather than a look at how the game plays. Among the shots:
- A large iguana crossing a road at a traffic light, and three men cruising in a green convertible painted with a web pattern.
- Jason and Lucia in a red convertible, and later leaning on a maroon sports car beside shipping containers.
- Two women stepping through a round vault door into a room full of flying debris.
- Jason and Lucia together in a shower, a scene GameSpot and GamesRadar both highlighted.
- Someone crouched on a pickup beneath a plane on a runway at sunset. Shacknews says Lucia leaps onto the moving plane's landing gear.
- A neon-green sports car on a wet, palm-lined street, and a motorcycle rider in midair above a rooftop.
- A biplane trailing pink smoke low over a packed beach, with someone standing on its top wing.
- A helicopter swinging a load on a chain into an office tower, smashing its windows.
- Police lights on a dark road, a sniper rifle trained on the city at night, Lucia firing a rifle and two people plunging into a lit pool.
Late in the trailer, Lucia asks, "Are we gonna be okay?" The answer is that they've stuck together through everything and just have to get through it. The trailer closes on the date, Nov. 19, 2026, and a call to pre-order.
A new song, and the score
"Flower in a Hurricane" is by Justice, featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. It came out the same day as a standalone single on streaming services, and Rockstar's music page plays it in full. It's also on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the soundtrack Rockstar made with Atlantic Records, which comes out Nov. 19. That makes it the seventh single from The Album, after the six released Sept. 17.
Rockstar's first two trailers were set to licensed songs: Tom Petty's "Love Is A Long Road" in Trailer 1 and The Pointer Sisters' "Hot Together" in Trailer 2. This one comes from the duo scoring the game. Justice is Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay, and Rockstar calls them the composers of GTA 6's original score. Rockstar's music page now has a section for the official score by Justice, and the Newswire promises more on the music, including the official score album. Rockstar hasn't said when that album comes out. Every single so far is in our soundtrack guide.
Not called Trailer 3
Rockstar titled it the Launch Trailer, not Trailer 3. It's Rockstar's third GTA 6 trailer, after Trailer 1 in December 2023 and Trailer 2 in May 2025, and its first new video since An Extended Look, the 26-minute video that premiered on Netflix and YouTube on Aug. 27. All of them are on our trailers page, and our Is it true? check on Trailer 3 now points here.
GTA 6 comes out Nov. 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The trailer opens and closes with PlayStation's logo, and Rockstar's site says the game plays best on PS5. Our countdown shows when it unlocks where you live.
