Phone
GTA 6's phone is a physical object in your character's hand, VICE reports from IGN's interview, and Rob Nelson of Rockstar North told IGN it now has a car scanner.
“We also now have this scanner as a part of the phone.”
Rob Nelson, co-studio head at Rockstar North, told IGN in an interview published Aug. 27 that the phone now has a scanner for cars. It shows a car's locks, alarms and trackers, along with its resale value and registration cost. IGN, reporting Game Informer's Sept. 29 cover story, names the app WAiNK.
VICE's Oct. 7 summary of IGN's full interview with Nelson says the phone exists as an object in the game world: when you take it out, the camera moves in on the handset in your character's hand. GTA 6 also has a social media app, Snapmatic, that Jason and Lucia can browse but not post to. More on the scanner is in our gameplay guide.
