Advertising terms

How booking an ad works, what we accept, and what happens if plans change.

Last updated

These terms apply when you book an ad on theleonida.com (“The Leonida,” “we”) through our advertise page. Sending a booking request means you accept them. Our terms of use and privacy policy cover the rest of the site.

Booking

You pick a spot and the days, from midnight Eastern on the first to the end of the last, and send the ad with the request. One request covers up to 31 days; for longer runs, email us. Sending it holds those days for 3 days. We check the ad within one working day and email you an invoice, or tell you what needs changing. The days are booked once your payment arrives, and we email you to say so. Until then nothing is charged, and a hold that runs out frees the days for others.

Prices and payment

Prices are day rates in US dollars, shown before you send the request, and the total in your request is what we invoice. Pay the invoice by the means it lists before your hold runs out, and in any case before the first day. If tax applies to your purchase, the invoice says so. Fees your bank or card charges you are yours.

What we accept

We turn down ads for:

  • Free or early copies of GTA 6, or game keys from unofficial sellers
  • Cheats, mod menus, modded accounts or money drops
  • Leaked footage, files or builds
  • Gambling, or adult content
  • Anything made to look like Rockstar Games, or like one of our stories

We can also decline an ad that we think would mislead readers, and we say why. The ad and the page it links to have to follow these rules for the whole run.

Your ad

You confirm that you have the rights to everything in the ad, including names, logos and images, and that what it says is true. Images are PNG, JPG, GIF or WebP files of up to 150 KB at the spot's shape; animation has to stop within 15 seconds and can't flash more than three times a second. You can send a second version for readers who use dark mode. We show the images as you send them and don't edit them.

How ads appear

On the days you book, yours is the only ad in its spot. Every ad is labeled “Advertisement,” and its link is marked as paid, as search engines ask. We don't track readers for advertisers or pass their information to you; to see the visits your ad sends, add tracking to its link. We don't promise a number of views or clicks: traffic changes from day to day, and readers who block ads won't see it.

Changes, cancellations and refunds

  • To change the ad or its link before or during the run, reply to our email. We check the new version the same way.
  • You can cancel for a full refund up to 7 days before your first day. After that, a booking can't be refunded.
  • If we can't run your ad for a reason on our side, such as the site being down for most of a day, we refund that day or add one at the end of your run, whichever you prefer.
  • If we stop an ad because it, or the page it links to, breaks these terms, we don't refund the days left.

Independence

An ad doesn't buy coverage. Advertisers have no say in what we write, see nothing before it's published, and can't ask us to cover or leave out anything, as our editorial policy says. We may report on your company like any other.

Limits

We work to show every booked ad as described, but we provide the site “as is,” as our terms of use say. To the extent the law allows, the most we owe for anything that goes wrong with a booking is what you paid for it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms and change the date at the top when we do. A booking keeps the terms in place on the day you sent its request.
