GTA 6 leaker Cyberleek threatens to release a playable build unless Take-Two ships discs
The leaker behind August's GTA 6 gameplay leaks says it will release a playable build unless Take-Two ships discs and apologizes. Nothing shows it has one.

The leaker behind August's Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay leaks is threatening to put a playable build of the game online. In a post on its website, reported Oct. 10 by eTeknix, the leaker, who goes by Cyberleek, says it will release the build once a "30 million" market cap is reached, unless Take-Two Interactive provides physical discs of the game and issues a public apology.
Nothing shows that Cyberleek has a build. eTeknix and Dexerto both say the claim hasn't been verified, and neither Rockstar Games nor Take-Two has responded publicly. GTA 6 is still set to launch Nov. 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
What Cyberleek is threatening
eTeknix spotted the statement through a post on Reddit's r/GamingLeaksAndRumours and lists its terms: the build goes public when the "30 million" market cap is reached, and Take-Two can stop that by providing physical discs and apologizing. The statement doesn't say what the market cap figure applies to, eTeknix notes, or what Take-Two would be apologizing for.
Dexerto, citing a post on X by gaming creator LegacyKillaHD, ties the threat to reviving Cyberleek's memecoin. It says the build can be played "start to finish," and that the leaker warned it could release major story spoilers to prove it has a complete build.
The statement itself concedes that Take-Two probably assumes Cyberleek is bluffing, eTeknix reports, and the leaker hasn't shown anything publicly that proves it has a build.
Not the first threat
Cyberleek made a similar threat in August. In a post on its website reported by GamingBible on Aug. 22, it claimed to have had "the build" for some time, with copies in "places Take-Two cannot reach." GamingBible reported that the threat would end if Rockstar backed away from selling the game without a disc. No build has surfaced since.
Dexerto reports that the leaker calls its campaign a protest against digital-only games, pre-orders and paid extras, but that it has also promoted a cryptocurrency alongside its leaks, raising questions about its motives.
On Oct. 8, after weeks of silence, about 25 minutes of new footage attributed to Cyberleek appeared online. Dexerto said it was unclear whether the upload came from the same person or group behind the August leaks, and that the footage's authenticity had not been independently verified.
What Rockstar and Take-Two have said
Neither company has addressed the new threat. Rockstar's last word on the leaks came on Aug. 26, when it said having videos of the game leak "has been heartbreaking for our team" and that it hoped everyone "will wait a bit longer to experience the game for themselves." Rockstar has confirmed that gameplay videos leaked, but not that any particular clip is genuine.
Take-Two has gone after the leaker in court instead. It sought DMCA subpoenas to identify the person responsible, reaching Discord, Microsoft, X and YouTube, and later asked a federal court in New York, under seal, for a narrower second Discord subpoena, TorrentFreak reported Aug. 31.
Will GTA 6 come on a disc?
No, and Rockstar has said so since pre-orders opened in June. The Rockstar Store says physical versions "will only contain a download code inside the box to support pre-load on November 12," and "A disc will not be included in the box." Our pre-load and Code in Box guide explains how the boxed version works.
Don't download anything claiming to be GTA 6
If a file claiming to be the game turns up, leave it alone. eTeknix warns that supposed leaked builds of big games are "a common lure for malware," because people download large archives from unknown sources and run whatever is inside. The real game unlocks Nov. 19, with pre-load from Nov. 12, and our release time guide has the unlock time where you live.
