GTA 6's score by Justice gets its own album on Dec. 11, with 30 tracks and a new single

Grand Theft Auto VI's score is getting an album of its own. Rockstar Games announced on Oct. 29 that Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score, composed by the French duo Justice, comes out Dec. 11 with 30 tracks, on streaming services, CD and vinyl. A new single from it, "Pusher" featuring Gesaffelstein, came out the same day.

What Rockstar announced

The announcement, on the Rockstar Newswire, says:

• Who wrote it. Justice, the duo of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay, composed the score. Rockstar calls them Grammy Award winners.
• How it works in the game. Rockstar calls it an adaptive score, with music "dynamically tuned to the different ways players engage" with Vice City and Leonida throughout Jason and Lucia's story. It doesn't say more about how that works.
• What's on the album. 30 tracks, plus a number of digital bonus tracks that Rockstar says come with every format.
• When and where. Dec. 11, on all major music streaming services, and on CD and vinyl, including a special limited Triple Crystal Clear vinyl. You can pre-save the album and pre-order the CD and vinyl now through Justice's official link.

The two tracks out so far

Rockstar has named two of the 30 tracks:

• "Flower in a Hurricane", featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. It's the song in the Launch Trailer and came out as a single on Oct. 15. It's also on The Album.
• "Pusher", featuring Gesaffelstein, a new single that came out Oct. 29. You can listen to it now on streaming services.

Rockstar hasn't published the rest of the tracklist or the names of the bonus tracks.

Two different albums

GTA 6 now has two official albums, and they're easy to mix up. The Album is a soundtrack of new songs by other artists. The Original Score is the music Justice wrote for the game itself.

Rockstar first promised music news about "the dynamic score" when it announced The Album on Sept. 17, and it named Justice as the composers with the Launch Trailer on Oct. 15. The official music page now has a section for the score, next to previews of six of the game's radio stations.

What we don't know yet

• The full tracklist, and what the bonus tracks are.
• Prices for the CD and the vinyl editions. Check the store before you order.
• How the score changes as you play. Rockstar says it follows how players engage with the world, but not how.
