GTA 6 Mount Kalaga National Park: hunting, fishing and off-road trails, explained
Mount Kalaga National Park is GTA 6's wild north, with hunting, fishing and off-road trails. Here's everything Rockstar has said and shown of it: its description, six screenshots, the wildlife and things to do.

Mount Kalaga National Park is Grand Theft Auto VI's wild north: forested hills and rivers on Leonida's northern border, with backwoods all around. It's one of the six regions Rockstar Games has named. Here's everything Rockstar has said and shown of it, from its own description to the six official screenshots, the wildlife and the things to do.
What Rockstar says
Rockstar heads its page for the region "Wild, Wild Country," with the line "Room to breathe on the state's northern fringes." Its description: "A national landmark up against the state's northern border, Mount Kalaga offers prime hunting, fishing, and off-road trails. In the lush surrounding backwoods, hillbilly mystics and paranoid radicals live far from the prying eyes of the government."
Rockstar's site navigation calls the region Mount Kalaga. Its postcard and screenshots use the full name, Mount Kalaga National Park.
What the six screenshots show
Rockstar released six screenshots of Mount Kalaga National Park. In order:
- Four people riding dirt bikes through the mud as an ATV jumps behind them.
- A news helicopter flying over a tree-covered ridge.
- Two people carrying rifles through the woods.
- A winding road between two steep hills.
- A cougar stalking a herd of deer drinking from a stream.
- A person in a life vest kayaking toward a bridge.

Things to do
Rockstar's description names three things to do in the park, and its screenshots add a fourth:
- Hunting. "Prime hunting," Rockstar says, and its third screenshot shows two people carrying rifles through the woods. Rockstar hasn't explained how hunting works.
- Fishing. Rockstar lists it for the park, and pitches the Ultimate Edition's Shitzu Squalo boat for fishing in Gambit Bay too.
- Off-roading. The park's off-road trails are in Rockstar's description, and dirt bikes and an ATV are in its first screenshot. Game Informer's cover story lists off-road racing among GTA 6's side activities, according to IGN.
- Kayaking. A kayaker paddles toward a bridge in the last screenshot. Kayaking is on Game Informer's list of side activities, according to IGN, and the Ultimate Edition includes an orange Crest Kayak among Jason's safehouse vehicles.

Who lives out there
Rockstar's description warns about the people in the backwoods around the park: "hillbilly mystics and paranoid radicals," living "far from the prying eyes of the government." Rockstar hasn't named any of them.
Wildlife
The cougar and deer in the fifth screenshot are the only animals in Rockstar's six screenshots of the park. Game Informer reports more than 170 animal species across Leonida, and says you can track certain animals, sorted into Rare, Discoverable and Legendary tiers; Rockstar hasn't said which animals are in each. Our animals guide has every species named so far.
What we don't know
- How big the park is, or how far it stretches along the border.
- How hunting works, or which animals you can hunt.
- Who the backwoods "radicals" are, and whether they matter to the story.
The rest of Leonida is in our map guide, and its other wild region in our Grassrivers guide.
