Can you still pre-order GTA 6? Yes, until it unlocks: where to buy, the bonus deadline and Best Buy's offers

GTA 6 pre-orders stay open until the game unlocks on Nov. 19, at $79.99 or $99.99 in the US. Buy before Nov. 20 for the Vintage Vice City Pack. Where to buy it, Best Buy's two offers and the Black Friday question.

Yes. You can pre-order Grand Theft Auto VI until it unlocks in your region on Nov. 19, and after that you can simply buy it, at the same price. Pre-ordering a digital copy now still gets you the pre-load, which opens on Nov. 10, and anything bought before Nov. 20 comes with the Vintage Vice City Pack, the pre-order bonus.

GTA 6 costs $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition in the US. Here's where to buy it, how the bonus works and what deals there are, 11 days before launch.

Where to pre-order GTA 6

StoreWhat it sellsWhen you get it
PlayStation StoreDigital Standard or Ultimate Edition for PS5Pre-load from Nov. 10
Xbox StoreDigital Standard or Ultimate Edition for Xbox Series X|SPre-load from Nov. 10 (7 p.m. Eastern on Nov. 9)
Rockstar StoreThe boxed Standard Edition, while supplies lastShips from Nov. 12
Game stores and big-box retailersThe boxed Standard EditionIn stores from Nov. 12

The boxed version holds a download code, not a disc, and comes only as the Standard Edition. Our story on the boxed copies covers what's inside and how to upgrade one to the Ultimate Edition later. Outside the US, prices differ: £69.99 and £89.99 in the UK, and €79.99 and €99.99 in Germany and France. Our price guide for 63 countries has the rest.

The pre-order bonus deadline

Rockstar says every pre-order and purchase before Nov. 20, 2026, gets the Vintage Vice City Pack: a '55 Vapid Stanier with a garage near Ocean Beach, outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia, and a palm-tree weapon pattern. It comes with both editions, digital or boxed. The store listings put the cutoff at 23:59:59 on Nov. 19, so in practice you have until the end of launch day.

Digital pre-orders also come with a free month of GTA+. GTA+ is Rockstar's membership for GTA Online, so read the fine print in our price and editions guide before counting the month as a GTA 6 bonus.

Why pre-order now rather than wait

The main reason is time. A digital pre-order lets you pre-load the game from Nov. 10: at midnight local time on PS5, and at midnight GMT on Xbox, which is 7 p.m. Eastern on Monday, Nov. 9. Rockstar says the download needs up to 212 GB, which can take hours on a slower connection, so buying on launch night means waiting for the download after the game unlocks. Some internet providers are helping: Spectrum is lifting eligible plans to 1 gig from Nov. 9 to Nov. 30.

If you change your mind, you can usually cancel. Our guide to cancelling a GTA 6 pre-order covers each store's rules.

Will GTA 6 be cheaper on Black Friday?

Probably not by much. Black Friday falls on Nov. 27, eight days after launch. Neither Rockstar nor Take-Two Interactive has announced a discount, and when we checked on Nov. 8 the PlayStation Store still listed the two editions at $79.99 and $99.99.

What there is so far are retailer perks. Best Buy has two offers, GameRant reported on Nov. 6:

  • A $50 certificate for My Best Buy members who pre-order GTA 6 and buy an eligible PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. Both purchases are required, and the certificate arrives after the orders are fulfilled, so it can't go toward either one.
  • 10% back in rewards for paid My Best Buy Plus and Total members who buy GTA 6, through Nov. 18. On the Standard Edition that's about $8, which GameRant says arrives roughly 15 days after the order is fulfilled.

We haven't been able to check the terms on Best Buy's own site, so read them there before you count on either.

Beware of anything much cheaper than the official price, such as keys from resellers or listings on sites you don't know. A GTA 6 deal that looks too good is more likely to be a scam than a sale, and our story on fake GTA 6 apps and downloads covers what to avoid.
